At twenty-six, Thérèse discovers herself invested by her double, whose absolute tyranny she now suffers: this is the time of the "other Thérèse", so far away, yet so close. Not content with taking over Thérèse's body to give free rein to her sexual urges, the "other Thérèse" acts on the young woman like an inverted mirror which, by revealing to her what she is not and what her environment deprives her of, shatters into a thousand pieces a universe whose every reference point is called into question.
