Description
My parents peeled my skin like a fig. I was a different fruit every day. Mixed race, these are poems in prose around the question of origins, present and absent. Born of an Arab father and a Quebec mother, a little girl of fresh paint, the author dives into the labyrinths of identity and childhood, searches for her unknown family on the dark side of the world. The poet summons paper ancestors to repair family trees, to tell the silence she received, to speak like a fire.
