Description
Judit is almost twelve years old. Passionate about drawing, she regularly goes to the Parc des Bastions in Geneva to sketch the pieces of the giant chess sets. One day, she meets Roger and his father, who teach her to play. From then on, Judit devotes as much time and investment to chess as she does to drawing. She trains, makes progress, until she tries her luck against Mister Aliyat, an unbeatable old Iranian who plays every day in the park. But Mister Aliyat has no papers, and risks being deported. So Judit, using all possible means, bringing together all the people who could help her, putting into practice everything that life has taught her, plays a highly publicized chess game against her mentor to plead her case. A very intense face-off then takes place, the stakes of which go beyond the very idea of victory.
