Description
¤ "This project does not only aim to reveal the accumulated unthoughts in so-called Western thought, particularly with regard to what it has constructed under the names of "Islam" and the "Arab world"; it is also about measuring the unacknowledged ideological drifts [with regard to] this Islam that has become indecipherable through being manipulated by both Muslims and its Western interpreters. Everything remains to be rethought, rewritten, revisited about Islam as a religion, [...] tradition of thought, intercultural deployments in the world [or] force of historical uprising of the popular masses everywhere abandoned to the practices of "wild thought". "
¤ Presenting the history of thought in Arabic from the emergence of the Qur'anic fact to the present day is the purpose of this work. While the "West" is increasingly opposed to "Islam", it situates, in a historical-critical framework, the place of Arab thought in a general history of Mediterranean thought and cultures, beyond all the major historical ruptures between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
