Deep in the forest, in the hollow of an old gnarled oak tree, lives Boris, a lonely little bat. Boris is desperate to make friends, but when the other animals see his shadow at their window, they are terrified and think he is a monster. Back in his cozy home, Boris bakes cakes, pies and buns for visitors who, alas, never come. One autumn day, a brave little bear wanders into the forest, attracted by the smell of Boris's pastries, changing our little bat's life forever.
