Jazzman is not a novel, but the diary of a passionate person who discovers and tells life, the world through music. Over the course of nights and anecdotes, a singular perspective is revealed: from Montreal to Paris, via New York, Saarbrücken, London or Bordeaux, the intoxication of jazz and the friendship of all the accomplices.

Born in Port-au-Prince and raised in Saguenay, Stanley Péan is a writer, journalist, screenwriter and, since December 2004, president of the Union des écrivaines et écrivains du Québec. When he is not writing and presenting jazz shows on Radio-Canada's music radio station, he bothers his neighbours at odd hours with his trumpet.
