Description
Inhabited by a deep sense of loss, the author sets out to take inventory of a world that is slipping away from her fingers: scattered and incomplete objects, remnants of emotions, bits of stories heard or invented, scraps of conversations. Everything becomes a pretext for this poetry of inventory. Through writing, she explores the forms of a lack of means, a tension that is only expressed through a demanding asceticism, a programmed disintegration of objects and poetic forms. The title Inventaires refers to this aesthetic of the list and to this very old idea of writing as an argument, as an “invention” (inventio).
