In Barbados, Lala lives frugally with her husband Adan. When he kills a rich white man during a burglary, two lives collapse. That of the victim's widow, a poor islander who has achieved a better life thanks to her charms. And that of Lala, a collateral victim, who loses her newborn because of Adan's violence. These two women linked by the same tragedy try to rebuild their lives.
