Impasse Dignité is the eponymous neighborhood. The young people named their impasse Dignité, out of a need for citizenship. They refuse, through this gesture, exclusion and claim an identity and the illusion of living in a country. Together, they will learn to be a crowd, to mix life, to invent dreams day after day that match their lack. They discover the injustice and social arrogance of the neighboring street inhabited by the city's notables.

Born in Port-au-Prince, Emmelie Prophète is a poet and novelist. She studied literature, communications and law. Her work is published by Mémoire d'encrier. She lives in Port-au-Prince.
