Dounia is the story of a little girl full of joy and imagination, her grandparents, and thousands of migrants. When war breaks out in Aleppo, Syria, Dounia must go in search of a welcoming land. Magic and love will allow her to continue her journey in search of a new home where she can take root.

Syrian-born creator Marya Zarif delicately tells this story inspired by her web series Dounia, broadcast by Télé-Québec. She knows how to find the right words to address uprooting, resilience and living together, from a child's perspective. Augmented reality pages, accessible through a free application, will allow young and old to further explore certain significant scenes from the story.
