The contents of this Dictionary are conform to the Official Orthography of the Department of Public Education of the Republic of Haiti published on January 31, 1980 according to the Law of September 28, 1979. According to Article 5 of the Haitian Constitution of 1987, all Haitians are united by one common Language: Haitian (Creole). Haitian and French are the Official Languages of Haiti. The Haitian Language now includes more than 13 million speakers on the American Continents, all of whom speak it on a daily basis. It has become the fourth most important Language in the Americas after Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
