The Japanese grandmother went in search of tales, some rare and little known, with the hope of seeing them shine the spark without which there is no story. And since there has to be a beginning, there are first the founding myths of a nature populated by divinities, where the goddess of the Sun holds the first place, as is fitting in the Land of the Rising Sun. Then, other nuggets on the path of the storyteller, a Japanese Cinderella from the 10th century and stories featuring samurai, Buddhist monks, young ladies embroidering their solitude with poems, specters and ghosts. And finally a mirror offering us a proverb to meditate on: The mirror is the soul of the woman as the saber is the soul of the warrior.
