Description
With his Tales of Creole Sages , Patrick Chamoiseau invites us on a colorful journey to Martinique. Through musical and pictorial writing, the storyteller brings to life characters whose stories take us to the heart of Creole culture, at the same time as they remind us how these texts of "survival" only make sense in relation to the context to which they refer: the colonialist period inherent in the history of the Antilles. In this, the role of the storyteller is essential.
Patrick Chamoiseau was born on December 3, 1953 in Fort-de-France, Martinique. Goncourt Prize for Texaco (in 1992), he is the author of intimate stories ( A Creole Childhood , in three volumes), novels ( The Matter of Absence, Chronicle of the Seven Misfortunes , Solibo Magnificent , Biblical of the last gestures ), essays ( In Praise of Creoleness, Creole Letters, Writing in a Dominated Country ), plays, poems and screenplays. He lives in Lamentin.
