A cry rises within me that transfigures me. The world is waiting for the woman to return to the world as she was born as she is: woman birth, woman upright, woman standing, powerful woman. Woman resurgence. Rebirth. A call rises within me and I have decided to say yes to it. Say yes to my birth. Assume in my mind the memories that emerge at the same time as the voices of indigenous women rise above the surrounding darkness. The memories of the wounds, the memories of the land, the memories of the people and its previous generations.

The shock of dispossession. Taking turns to speak and gradually relieving the burden of oppression. The weight of pain. The weight of colonialism. I write to say yes to my being. To say yes to me, a woman. To force the doors of silence. To call ourselves resilience. For posterity. To ensure our trace. To uproot Colonization once and for all.
